Unpacking forgotten treasures

As many of you know we just moved into a new condo just up the street and as we pack and unpack we discover some treasures we had forgotten. Pictured is the first athletic event held at West Holmes High School, Sept. 11, 1964 - W.S. Knights vs. Lucas football program. Head coach was Virgil Allison. His assistants were Paul Soyars, James McMillen, Mervyn Nugent, and Ken Thrasher. Gabe Levers was the athletic director. Co-captains were Dick Eyler and Duane Snow. Squad size appears to be around 36 plus two managers. There was no schedule printed, but as I remember we did have a winning season.

Recent auction prices: blue stoneware milk pitcher, $60; Pershing still bank, $50; blue salt crock, $80; tin candle lantern, $55; old fraktur, $75; eared blue decorated clock, $85; feed sack cart, $12.50; iron boot jack, $10.50; Millersburg Hob Star and Feather crystal bowl, $60; large dovetailed copper bowl, $125; cast iron hat rack, $12.50; well bucket, $50; bee smoker, $7.50; wood bowl, $7.50; Separator tin sign, $15; wicker baby buggy, $10; sausage stuffer on board, $50; wood egg box, $25; lightning rod with glass, $25; J.C.
