The submitted entries were judged by a committee of local industry leaders, high school teachers and campus faculty. First place winners received $200, second place received $100, and the fourth and fifth place students were awarded a tuition voucher for a business and community services course. In addition, first, second and third place winners were awarded a scholarship for $1,500, $1,000 and $750 respectively.
Digital electronics students constructed working digital stopwatches using the computer and electronic facilities at the campus. They learned the basics of AutoCAD, printed circuited board fabrication and soldering/desoldering techniques. The digital electronics winners were Codie Millhone, from Tuscarawas Valley High School, first place; Joey Ervin, from Coshocton County Career Center, second place; Brittany Dayton, from Coshocton County Career Center, third place; Brandon Ondayko, from Coshocton County Career Center, fourth place; and Lexi Clark, from Perry High School, fifth place.
Entries for the CAD competition were based on themes given to the students during the training session. Students completed entries in the robotics and automation, theater backdrop, transportation, historical, futuristic and logo categories. The CAD winners were Anlynn Allison, from Jefferson County JVS, first place; Frederick Hanna, from Perry High School, second place; Vernon Sadler, from Jefferson County JVS, third place; Ian Beiber, from Jefferson County JVS, fourth place; and Amber Birch, from Claymont High School, fifth place.
The multimedia competition created simple, functional websites using production standards by incorporating color and design theory. The multimedia development winners were Marcus Yeagle, from Tuscarawas Valley High School, first place; Gloria Diehl, from Strasburg High School, second place; Kayla Rausch, from Buckeye Career Center, third place; Andrew Ansel, from New Philadelphia High School, fourth place; and Tayla Ideozu, from Canton South High School, fifth place.
The video game design competition winners were Steven Tracy and Charles Colvin, from Belmont Career Center, first place; Patrick Tribble, from Belmont Career Center, second place; Albert Shannon and Dustin McFarland, from Belmont Career Center, third place; Austin Curtis, from Perry High School, fourth place; and Taylor Marsh, from Dover High School, fifth place.
Students in the robotics competition designed and constructed working robots using Lego Mindstorm kits. These robots have various functions such as motion light sensing and obstacle detection. The robotics winners were Aaron McCartney, from Claymont High School, first place; Evan Dickerhoof, from Perry High School, second place; and Drew Roghelia and Anthony Johnson, from Harrison Central High School, third place.
The animation design competition challenged students to combine computer graphics and sound files into a media presentation. These winners included Anna Riggs, from New Philadelphia High School, first place; Sebastian Patterson, from Claymont High School, second place; Nick Rahn, from Coshocton County Career Center, third place; and Matt Wilkes, from Coshocton County Career Center.
