MaryLou was born Feb. 3, 1928, in Roswell, the daughter of the late Isaac E. and Nellie Morrison. After attending Midvale High School, she began her career at Union Hospital as an assistant dietician. Later, she served as a waitress at the former Bassetti’s Restaurant and retired from K-Mart Shopping Center, where she was a sales clerk and a door greeter.
MaryLou enjoyed taking vacations with her daughters, camping, and completing word search books.
On August 1, 1966, she married Kenneth F. Elliott, who preceded her in death in 1987.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jean “Punky” Sharkey and Maxine “Mickey” Moore, both of New Philadelphia, Hilda (Ronnie) Harding of Smithfield, Mildred “Pee-Wee” (Joe) Ricklic of New Philadelphia, Hazel Carpenter of Salem, Nina (Jim) Haney of Uhrichsville, and Izena “Ikie” (Dale) Couch of New Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters, a great-grandson, and special son-in-law, Russ Moore Sr.
Public graveside services will be held April 23, at 10 a.m., in Roxford Cemetery, Dennison, with Alan Stutzman officiating. Following services, MaryLou’s family and friends are invited to Hennis Care Center, 1720 Cross St., Dover, for a luncheon and reception. Cremation care has been conducted through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory, Dover.
