Lillian C. Simpson, 88, of Roswell, died May 8, 2011, at Union Hospital.

Born Oct. 3, 1922, in Hazard, Ky., Lillian was a daughter of the late Taylor and Blanche Wagner. She was a member of Roxford Church and its Bible study group. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, taking walks, and listening to country music.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Lillian will be sadly missed by her children, Rebecca Dixon of Venice, Fla., Joanne Tretheway of Englewood, Fla., and Steve Simpson of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Tim, Michelle, James, and Eric; a brother; three sisters; and her extended family, William (Hallie) Hawthorne and Shelley and Valerie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Simpson Sr.; and sons, William Simpson Jr. and Mark Simpson.

Graveside services were held May 13, in the Roxford Church Cemetery, with Pastor Ron Heasley officiating.
