Betty Eileen Sandry, 91, who had most recently resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Uhrichsville for the past four years, died May 29, 2011, at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center, Uhrichsville, following a period of declining health.

Born April 12, 1920, in Dennison, Betty was a daughter of the late William and Wanda Pearl Boughton. She was a graduate of Dennison High School in the class of 1938. On August 8, 1942, she married Silvan Joseph Sandry, with whom she enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until his passing in 1993. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker who had also worked at H.L. Green’s and The Smart Shop. A longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church, Dennison, she was active in its Altar Society and choir, as well as a number of area associations including the Altruist Club, Twin City AARP, Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens, Keeping in Touch Senior Citizens, and the Dover Eagles and VFW ladies auxiliaries until her health prevented her.

Betty’s surviving family includes her daughter, Connie (Dwane) Roberts of Uhrichsville; grandchildren, Jason Roberts and his companion and her children, Christina Murphy, Lauryn and Wyatt of Uhrichsville and Amber Roberts of Dennison; sister, Lenora “Nodie” (William) Dudgeon of Deersville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas David Sandry; her aunt who raised her, Zella Scott; brothers, William A. Boughton and Charles Scott; and sisters, Irene Andreatta and Delia Beamer.

Services will be held June 2, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, with Father Anthony Lonzo officiating. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call 8:30-9:30 a.m., at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison.

Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Crossroads Hospice, Immaculate Conception Church’s Cemetery Fund, or the charity of their choice.
