Thunder Valley Pioneers hear safety reports

The Thunder Valley Pioneers held a 4-H meeting May 15. There were 30 members present at the meeting.

A safety report was given on car seat safety and the health report was on exercising. In new business, Friday, June 10, from 8-10 p.m., is ear tagging for market hogs, as well as Saturday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. Group members decided to paint a quilt square.

In old business, four members were present at 4-H camp clean up, 11 members for the Run for Home, and 22 for Bowl for Kids Sake. The group led the pledges in the Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 30, in Port Washington. The club served drinks at the alumni banquet on Saturday, May 28, from 5-8 p.m. Demonstrations given during the meeting were from Klayton Kerns on how to worm a pig, Chase Jenkins on transplanting, Alexa and Alana Long on how to sex a cat, and Katie Wilson on how to shuffle cards.

The next meeting will be held at Gnadenhutten park June 12.
