“When we formed the organization, our hearts were in different places,” said Brindley. “We would like to take the proceeds we earn and use them for cancer treatment assistance, educational assistance and nonprofit awards to residents and organizations in Tuscarawas County.”
The iGive Foundation will host Big Money Bonanza, Oct. 8, from noon to 5:30 p.m., at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $100 each and allow the purchasers the opportunity to win a variety of prizes.
Prizes include cars, motorcycles and cash. Cash prizes vary from $500 to $50,000. Tax, title, and transfers for prizes won will be paid by the foundation. A complete list of prizes can be seen at the foundation’s website at http://www.igivefoundation.org/#!__prizes.
The event consists of a raffle drawing every five minutes throughout the day. Complimentary food will be available and a beverage garden will be open. Side raffles conducted throughout the day will award prizes that include an ATV, boat, camper and more. A huge 50/50 drawing will also take place.
“When we describe the list of prizes we expect people to simply want to purchase a ticket because of the opportunity to win. We have been surprised at how unselfish people have been. They want to know where their money goes and who it will help,” said Brindley.
“For some, college is just a dream. We want to be able to financially assist those most worthy of assistance. Cancer patients are faced with enough worries. Their illness shouldn’t be more of a burden so we want to help them. We can help nonprofit organizations, those that help others. We want to spread the wealth,” said Brindley.
Guests can attend the event if accompanied by a valid ticket holder. The fee for guests is $25 and can be paid at the door. No one under the age of 18 may purchase tickets or enter the raffle event. Winners need not be present to win. Participants can win more than once.
It is the goal of the foundation to sell 7,500-10,000 tickets.
All the money raised during the event will help those living in Tuscarawas County.
Tickets are available at the foundation’s website, the Twin City Chamber of Commerce at Uhrichsville, American Italian Club at Dennison, Claymont High School cheerleaders through advisor Sharon Grove, Trinity Hospital at Dennison, and the groundskeeper’s office at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds.
