Naturalist Pam McWhorter leads a guided tour of the canal towpath highlighting the ruins of the Zoar Mill, Lock #10, the old fishery, dam, and sawmill. Tours start at the Canal Lands Park at 11:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. A fee will be charged.
While there, don’t miss Captain John B. Reynolds as he presents his life story as part of the Saturdays in Zoar Speaker Series, which are free, in between the Towpath Tours. Find out about the canal during the Civil War, speed limits, and life on the “Big Ditch.”
Captain Reynolds begins at 1 p.m. on the old bridge across from the Inn on the River. Parking available at Canal Lands Park. There is no cost to attend the speaker presentation, and there will be plenty of time to attend both the Towpath Tour and Captain Reynolds.
Gather up the family for a short hike and a great performance on the Ohio & Erie Canal.
