TCCF awards 18 scholarships to area students
The Tuscarawas County Community Foundation has awarded 18 $1,000 scholarships to deserving area students.
Two Scott Graham Memorial scholarships were awarded. Jared Cunningham, of Stone Creek, and Chad Dixon, of Port Washington, will participate in the firefighter and paramedic training courses at Stark State.
The foundation, through a donor-advised fund by the local Junior Achievement chapter, awarded scholarships to two Dover High graduates. Christian Ifft and Morgan Schaffer, both of Dover, will attend Miami University. Ifft plans to study business, while Schaffer will study either international marketing or business.
The following 14 students received Tuscarawas County Community Foundation Leadership Scholarships. The winners were chosen for leadership shown both in and out of school, as well as their record of community service.
- Tiffany Dennison, New Philadelphia, Buckeye Career Center, respiratory therapy technician, Stark State.
- Chase Swaney, Uhrichsville, Claymont High, political science and theater, Ohio State University.
- Joshua Cox, Midvale, Claymont High, nursing, University of Akron.
- Holly Hagy, Dover, Dover High, neonatal nursing, Liberty University.
- Rachel Teague, Sugarcreek, Garaway High, English, Franciscan University.
- Tricia Horn, New Philadelphia, Indian Valley High, nursing, Ashland University.
- Carli Norman, New Philadelphia, New Philadelphia High, biomedical engineering, Miami University.
- Chase Kendall, New Philadelphia, New Philadelphia High, chemical engineering, Ohio State University.
