The Memorial Stone was dedicated on May 21, 2011, Armed Forces Day, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Due to the enormous response that we received for this project, we were able to purchase a bench for The Ohio Veterans Memorial Park in Clinton, Ohio. The Tuscarawas community helped and assisted in making this happen. The Tuscarawas County Stone Committee is very grateful.
The Tuscarawas County Stone Committee chartered four buses for anyone that wanted to ride along. All four buses were full and many others drove themselves. We estimated there were about 350 individuals at the dedication. We started the day leaving New Philadelphia at about 9:45 a.m., with the Patriot Guard leading the way.
The company was good, the weather was great, we all enjoyed a great lunch, and heard wonderful entertainment from All In Quartet. All had the opportunity to view the Tuscarawas County Memorial Stone and bench in their place of honor.
You are an important part of this marvelous tribute to the Tuscarawas County Veterans. We could not have accomplished this project without your help.
Thank you.
