Landon Helmke (L), 13, recently attended the 2011 Junior National Shorthorn Show in Indianapolis, Ind. He is the son of Mike and Leanne Helmke and grandson of Bob and Pat Wise, all of New Philadelphia. Landon competed in a fitting contest with two other team members, Cale (center) and Koda Dawson (R), from Indiana. They placed fifth in the prospector age division. Landon competed in this age group, since the Junior Shorthorn Association considers age as of Jan. 1, 2011 for all competitions.
