Edna Dillon

Edna V. Dillon, 85, of Dover, died July 20, 2011, at her home.

Born Feb. 17, 1926, in Bellaire, Edna was the daughter of the late Delbert Henry and Anna Ruby Underwood. For 25 years she was a familiar face at the checkout counter for Howenstein Grocery, Bolivar. Later she owned and assisted in the operation of Dillon’s Beauty Shop.

Edna attended Jerusalem Church and had previously attended Canton Baptist Temple. A loving, caring woman, she will be remembered for her great sense of humor. Among her favorite pastimes were solving word puzzles and going shopping with her best friend, Geri.

She was blessed to share her life with two terrific husbands, both of whom preceded her in death, Wilbert Kleyman and Pete Dillon.

Surviving family members include a daughter, Sandy Wagner of Dover; son, Paul (Deborah) Kleyman of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tim, Tom, and Terry Wagner, Wendy McAfee, Lori Mutti, and Trad and Destiny Kleyman; 14 grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Kleyman; brother, Charles; and sisters, Evelyn and Dolores.

Services celebrating Edna’s life were held July 23, at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Rev. Frank Sapp Jr. officiating.
