Roy Mullett

Roy E. Mullett, 85, of Baltic, died August 1, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Roy was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Sugarcreek, to the late Emanuel and Amanda Mullett. He retired from Holmes Limestone, had worked as a truck driver, and his first job was working in the deep mines of Sugarcreek. He was a member of Light in the Valley Chapel and a former Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Viola Mullett, whom he married Oct. 11, 1953; children, Carol (Layden) Miller of Millersburg, Marilyn (Marvin) Hochstetler of Loudonville, Darlene (Jeff) Hines of New Philadelphia, Edward Mullett of Dover, Sheila (Sam) Hershberger of Baltic, and Rhoda (Merlin) Gingerich of Mt. Hope; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and sisters, Sue Heighn of Indiana and Amanda McCochran of New Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John, Melvin, and Wayne; and sisters, Ida, Emma, Fannie, Martha, Sylvia, Lydia Ann, and Dorothy.

Services will be held August 4, at 10 a.m., at Light in the Valley Chapel, with Pastor Ferman Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call August 3, from 5-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services.
