The outing begins with registration and a hot lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at noon. A scramble format provides a fun day of golf for everyone regardless of their ability with prizes for low net score, low orange ball score, longest drive, longest putt, straightest drive, and closest to the pin. There will be a hole in one contest with prizes of $20,000 toward a new car, $5,000 cash, and a golf getaway, and new golf clubs.
Jack Marsh was a lifetime resident of Tuscarawas County and served as director and chairman of Marsh Industries and director and vice president of Stone Creek Brick Company. He was very active as a community leader as a member of Dover and New Philadelphia Rotary clubs, the Chamber of Commerce, Airport Commission, Ohio Forestry Commission, and Union Hospital. He was inducted into the Chamber of Commerce’s Hall of Fame in 1998. Marsh was also a lifetime member and supporter of the Tuscarawas County YMCA, having served as president of its board of directors and board of trustees. He was chairman of the YMCA endowment committee, and chaired the successful YMCA Phase III Capital Campaign in 1999, which expanded the Wellness Center.
