Mary was born April 26, 1915, to the late Hans and Veronica Stotzer, and was the eldest of 12 children. She married the late Howard E. Kilchenmann on June 19, 1935, and celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death in 1987. Together they owned and operated the Brewster Food Locker.
Mary was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Brewster, the North American Swiss Alliance, the Canton Swiss Ladies Aid Society, the United Swiss-Americans of Canton, the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, Strasburg Chapter AARP, and Strasburg Seasoned Seniors Fellowship.
Mary is survived by her children, Howard (Trudi) Kilchenmann of Waldo, Myrna (Leland) Schie of Strasburg, Paul (Margaret) Kilchenmann of Beach City, and Darlene Kilchenmann of Strasburg; grandchildren, Ralph (Sherry) Schie, John Kilchenmann, Lee Schie, Erica (Matthew) Burkey, Dawn (David) Meier, Justin Kilchenmann, and Kimberly Kilchenmann; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Specht of Beach City, Frieda Lieser of Beavercreek, and Ruth Breniser and Helen (L.V.) Kollar, both of Dover; brothers, Walter (Gladys) and Fritz (Janet) Stotzer, both of Mineral City; brother-in-law, Ralph Shaffer of Dundee; sister-in-law, Wilma Kilchenmann Gopp of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Leeman, Clara Vogt, and Ida Pepper Shaffer; and brothers, John and Robert Stotzer.
Private memorial services will be held August 22, at 11 a.m., at Faith United Church of Christ, Brewster.
