Clayton Mullet drove his Honda Micro into the winner’s circle, after taking the checkered flag in the Dwarf Cars event during flat track racing on Saturday, while Marvin Troyer wrapped up the TT track racing events on Sunday by winning the Open Pro Quad feature on his Exodus Cycles and Precision Poured Walls-sponsored Honda.
Two quad and two bike divisions compete in the OOFTSCS series, which travels throughout the Buckeye state to race on tracks ranging from quarter-mile short tracks to TT courses and half-mile dirt ovals found at local fairgrounds.
The racing series - sponsored by Mid-Ohio Suzuki-Honda-Yamaha-Kawasaki of Mt. Vernon - will return to Hilltop on Saturday, Sept. 24 for the third annual Tim “Smoothy” Rutherford Memorial flat track race, paying $1,500 to Pro Quad winners and $1,000 to Pro Bike winners, and will crown its State champions at the conclusion of its 17-event schedule in October.
Also in October, stock car racing returns to Millersburg when Hilltop Speedway hosts its second annual “Weekend on the Hill,” Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2, featuring the rescheduled $500 Mini Wedge Invitational on Saturday and the $1,000 Guerne Heights Drive-In Mini Stocks feature on Sunday.
The Mini Stocks will run qualifying laps and heat races on Saturday - as all eyes will be on Brett Adkins’ track record of 18.519 seconds, set a year ago - with a full racing program set to follow, featuring Tri-State Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Atom’s Pest Control Trucks.
A practice session for Ohio Outlaw Mini Stocks, Cruisers and Dwarf Cars will wrap up the action on Saturday night, with a full Outlaws show in those three divisions slated for Sunday, following the Last Chance and Feature races for the Mini Stocks, as somebody will drive away with $1,000.
