The program will be held Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Union Hospital’s Rosenberry Conference Room.
The cost for the class materials is $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members. Register for the program online at http://www.unionhospital.org and select Health Events to reach the events calendar. Register by phone by calling the Union Hospital community relations office at 330-602-0778.
Other topics covered in this four-hour program include defensive driving techniques, understanding the effects of medication on driving, and how to monitor driving skills. No driven or written tests will be given.
Those who complete the senior driving program may become eligible for discounts from their automobile insurance company. Discounts are normally extended over a three-year period, and after that time the driver must renew the certificate. It is best to check with the driver’s insurance agent to determine whether a discount applies.
