Lucille Yoder

Lucille Yoder, 82, of Sugarcreek, died Oct. 10, 2011, at Union Hospital, Dover, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness.

Born August 12, 1929, in Holmes County, Lucille was a daughter of the late Paul and Edith Shutt. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Sugarcreek Church of the Brethren, where she was a lifetime deaconess, was involved in the Women’s Fellowship, and taught Sunday school.

Surviving are her husband, Paul A. Yoder, whom she married May 24, 1947; children, Larry (Lynn) Yoder of Arvada, Colo., Dwight (Barb) Yoder of Ragersville, Kevin (Gladys) Yoder of Dundee, Bryan (Tobie) Yoder of Sugarcreek, Paula (Tim) Specht of Ragersville, Diana (Michael) Stingle of Dundee, and Eric (Cindi) Yoder of New Philadelphia; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Schenk of Sugarcreek; and brother, Dave (Norma) Shutt of Sugarcreek.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Amy Yoder; and brother-in-law, Bill Schenk.

Services were held Oct. 14, at Sugarcreek Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Dick Marshall and David Lorah officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek.
