Prior to Saturday, the firemen sold pizza voucher cards and took pre-orders for the event, selling one topping Big Daddy pizzas for $9.11. Then, on the Oct. 15, the firemen and their wives spent the day answering the phone, making pizzas and delivering them. Along with delivering the pizzas, they distributed smoke detectors to those who ordered that day.
By the end of the night, the firemen and Fox's employees had made over 300 Big Daddy pizzas in addition to other regular orders. Everyone involved was pleased with the turnout and greatly appreciated the support from the community.
"This was the first time I had tried an event like this, but it was definitely a success and the firemen did an amazing job," commented Fox's Pizza Den owner, Tami Ajayi. "Being able to help the community is important to my employees and me, so we are looking forward to more events in the future as well."
Fox's Pizza Den is located on Main Street in Baltic. For more information about Pizza and Prevention or other fundraising opportunities call 330-897-3697.
