Walter A. Hickman Jr., 58, of Newcomerstown, died Oct. 23, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born Oct. 21, 1953, in Belden, Mich., Walter was a son of the late Walter Sr. and Eileen Hickman. He retired from M&W Plastics, West Lafayette.

A wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Walter will be sadly missed by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Hickman, whom he married June 17, 1972; children, Lisa (Charles) Wilson of Newcomerstown, Janet (Basil) Earley of Cambridge, Walter (Jenni) Hickman III of Pataskala, Kimberli Canales of Columbus, Clayton Hickman of Newcomerstown, and Laura (Brandon) Eckley of Las Vegas; brothers, Winfred “Chubby” and Wally Hickman; sisters, Veretta, Roma, and Janet; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be held Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with his son, Walter Hickman III, officiating. Interment will be in Dover Burial Park. Friends can call Oct. 25, from 6-8 p.m.
