A daughter of the late Carl A. Bente and Lois L. Bente-Sheets, June, as she was known to family and friends, was born Oct. 19, 1930, in Dennison. She attended the former Dennison High School, where she was a member of the percussion section in the band. For a number of years, she helped her former husband on the family farm and also previously held employment with Dennison Pottery, Alsco, Packer Electric, and Quimby’s Bakery.
June was a former member of Park Christian Church, Dennison, and often attended Grace Church of the Nazarene, Youngstown, when visiting her daughter and son-in-law. Her hobbies and interests were vast and included being a fan of the Cleveland Browns, working in her yard and flower beds, exercising, often walking up to three miles a day, and caring for her dog, Faith.
She was known by her family as an individual who was quick-witted and funny. Her children and grandchildren adored her humor and the time she spent with them. Additionally, she had an uncanny love for duct tape and was very mechanically savvy, often fixing items in her home on her own.
June will be missed by her daughters, Bea (Robert) Donato of Youngstown, Sandi (Lainard) Gray of Tippecanoe, and Kim (Dwayne) Jackson of Gnadenhutten; sons, Tim (Teresa) Glauser of Port Washington and Mark Glauser (fiancee, Carol Jones ) of Gnadenhutten; sister, Margaret Pancher; half-sisters, Jean Stewart, Joan Cohen, and Janetta Paulum; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Services celebrating her life were held Nov. 7, at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with June’s son-in-law, Rev. Robert Donato officiating. Burial was in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover.
