Garry Shuss

Garry L. Shuss, 61, of Uhrichsville, died Nov. 10, 2011, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Born May 19, 1950, in Dennison, Garry was a son of Edna Faye Shuss of Uhrichsville and the late Roy Raymond Shuss. He retired with over 21 years of service as a coal miner in the deep mines for the Consolidated Coal Company. He also loved farming and helping out his friends and neighbors. Garry loved hunting, four-wheeler riding, and spending time outdoors, although his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, which he loved dearly.

Surviving are children, Donnie L. (Zelma) Shuss and Jessica Shuss, both of Bowerston, Angie (Larry) Colaner of Uhrichsville, Paul (Karen) Shotwell of Ragersville, Clint Shuss (fiancee Kirra Eick) of Carrollton, and Lacey J. Shuss (fiance Justin DeWees) of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Santanna (Joey) Dotson, Dakota Shuss, Macenzie Brown, and Kierra and Paden Shotwell; siblings, Joseph C. (Natalie) Shuss, Rita K. Shuss, Robin R. Shuss, and Roger Shuss, all of Uhrichsville; seven nieces and nephews, Dusty (John) Blankenship, Shanon Nalley, and Sara, Emily, Joseph, Jack, and Abigail Shuss; two great-nephews, Jared Nalley and Steven Clark; many extended family members including aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Roy Ferguson Jr.

Services will be held Nov. 15, at 1 p.m., at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison, with Pastor Jerralyn Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Deersville’s Patterson Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Nov. 14, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
