Mary Lou was born June 27, 1938, in Blairmont, to the late Fred and Alberta Bartels. She married Joseph J. Madzia on April 4, 1959. He survives.
She had worked at Country Lawn Nursing Home and Belloni Foods and was a member of Holy Family Parish Church, Brewster, and the St. Therese Altar and Rosary Society. Mary Lou loved to be in the kitchen baking foods and sweets for her family. She was committed to her faith and family and taught her family about love. She will be missed by all who were touched by her love.
In addition to her husband, Mary Lou is survived by her children, Karen Madzia of Rittman, Joseph (Cindy) Madzia of North Lawrence, Michael Madzia of Springtown, Texas, Donna (Buddy) Mann of Mineral City, Greg (Myssi Vanegas) Madzia of Massillon, and Kenny (Carla) Madzia of Navarre; sister, Beverly (Jim) Torok of Smithfield; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a sister.
Mass of Christian burial was held Nov. 22, at Holy Family Parish Church, Brewster, with Father Michael Seifert officiating. Burial was in St. Clement’s Cemetery, Navarre.
