Each year for the last 19 years, Rick Strimbu’s class at Buckeye Career Center has been refurbishing bikes for Share-A-Christmas. People donate new and gently used bikes to the career center, or bikes arrive through the Indian Valley FFA/WJER toy drive. After students work on them, Share-A-Christmas gives participants a coupon to redeem the bikes directly at Buckeye. “They usually come the last day we have school,” (Thursday, Dec. 22 in 2011) said Strimbu. “My students love playing Santa’s elves and helping pass out the bikes they’ve worked so hard on.” This year there were 45 bikes distributed.
