TCWU Casino Night planned
The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured (TCWU) is hosting the first Casino Night fundraiser to benefit the clinic on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Union Country Club in Dover. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the casino tables opening from 7-10 p.m. and live music by Steve Kelly from 7 to midnight.
Casino Night is sponsored Allied Machine & Engineering, FOP Tuscora Lodge #4, Myers & Miller Podiatry, Krugliak Wilkins Griffiths & Dougherty Co., LPA., Pissocra-Mathias Realty, Kurt C. Garren MD, Inc., and James A. Karlowicz, DDS.
Tickets include entry fee, heavy appetizers, and draft beer. Play money will be available for purchase at the door. All proceeds benefit the clinic, which serves Tuscarawas County residents who are employed without insurance. The clinic is located at 420 Reeves Ave., Suite D, Dover. All tickets must be reserved by calling 330-364-1853.
The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured is a non-profit organization with a mission to improve access to health care for the working, uninsured citizens ages 18-64 who live in Tuscarawas County and are at or below 199 percent of the federal poverty level. The clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers and others who believe that good health can be reached and maintained through the proper balance of exercise, nutrition, medical care and education.
The goal of the clinic is to help patients obtain and maintain good health. In order to achieve this goal, the clinic offers preventative and routine services, diabetic education, hypertension education, nutritional/dietician services, medication programs, health education classes, and some specialty care and dentistry.
Anyone in Tuscarawas County ages 18-64 who are gainfully employed but lack medical insurance can contact the clinic at 330-364-1853 to complete a medical and financial assessment to determine eligibility.
