A daughter of the late Russell and Minnie Clum, Audrey was born Oct. 4, 1950, at Union Hospital, Dover. She was raised in Port Washington and became a 1968 graduate of Indian Valley South High School. On Nov. 8, 1969, she married the love of her life, Richard Meek, and together they reared four daughters.
A caregiver to her family first and foremost, Audrey was one of the very first employees of New Towne Mall, New Philadelphia. For over 22 years, she met, socialized, and became friends with literally hundreds of individuals who passed by her and got to know her through her work as a food court attendant.
Audrey had a number of passions in her life which included being an avid reader, assembling jigsaw puzzles, being a fan of the Cleveland Indians, and enjoying country music and The Beatles. Additionally, she was a year-round lover of the Christmas holiday. She loved adding new snowmen to her ever-growing collection and enjoyed watching and collecting Christmas movies and books.
Known to her family as the hub of the wheel, her giving personality and contagious smile will be forever remembered by those she leaves behind, which includes her husband of 42 years, Richard Meek; daughters, Deborah Armstrong and Susan (Troy) Parsons, both of New Philadelphia, Heather (Tom) Campbell of Minerva, and Shelly Barnhart of Copley; grandchildren, Megan, Molly, and Ethan Armstrong, Troy II, Cory, Zachary, and Brady Parsons, Emily Campbell, and Alden Barnhart; sisters, Mildred (Bob) Veigel, Phyllis Clum, Alice (Vern) Kieffer, and Mary King; brothers, Jack (Mary) Jones, Dick (Audrey) Clum, and Donald (Lydia) Clum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, David Clum.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held Jan. 24, at 10:30 a.m., at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Jason Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park, New Philadelphia. The family will receive friends Jan. 23, from 4-7 p.m., and one hour prior to services.
