The Tuscarawas County Retired Teachers’ Association is offering at least a $1,000 scholarship and a $500 scholarship this year. The applicant must be a senior or college student who is a child, grandchild, or first generation niece/nephew of an active or deceased-while-active member of the association.

Selection will be according to a point system based on grades, school activities, and community service. Three recommendations - two from teachers, one of which should be the applicant’s chosen field, and the other of his or her choice - are required. A short essay stating why the applicant thinks he or she deserves the scholarship is also needed.

Application forms may be picked up from a guidance counselor in any Tuscarawas County high school. All parts of the application must be postmarked by April 7 and submitted to Molly Doughten, 204 Gooding Ave. NW, New Philadelphia 44663.
