Richard West
Richard Leroy “Dick” West, 64, of Freeport, a longtime resident of Uhrichsville, died unexpectedly Jan. 25, 2012, at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1947, in Dennison, Dick was the son of the late Willard Rex and Marie Kathryn West. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. With the exception of his years of military service, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Kimble Co. and a member of the Uhrichsville Eagles who enjoyed camping.
On March 29, 1993, Dick married the former Christy Sue Risley. She preceded him in death in 2006. His surviving family includes a son, Doug West of Dennison; stepson, Clifford Risley of New Philadelphia; stepdaughter, Kim Perry of Uhrichsville; stepgrandchildren, Cameron Risley and Santanna and Breanna Morrison; and sister, Jean Olstrom.
Dick will be interred beside his beloved wife, Christy, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
