Each day students will engage in three 20-minute rounds of testing in their respective category. The test questions are aligned to Ohio’s new learning assessments and are provided by the ECOESC. An awards ceremony will recognize first through sixth place in each category with first place also receiving a trophy. First-place winners also will be entered into a drawing for an iPad, donated by the Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition.
The culminating prize will be the John Evanosky Memorial District Math Tournament Trophy, awarded to the district earning the highest number of points during the two-day event. Last year the trophy was awarded to Dover Schools.
Participating school districts include Carrollton, Claymont, Conotton Valley, Dover, Garaway, Harrison Hills, Indian Valley, New Philadelphia, Newcomerstown, Strasburg and Tuscarawas Valley. Approximately 725 students will participate in the event.
