The winning ticket for a Trek Verve Street and Trail bike, valued at $400, was drawn Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Zeisberger Trail and Parks meeting. The bike will go to 1-year-old Norah Davis, who attends meetings with her parents Matt and Erin Davis. The ticket was purchased by Norah’s grandfather Mike Mann. All reside in Tuscarawas.

“I bought a ticket for each one of my five grandkids,” said Mann, who posed Norah on the bike for pictures. Mann said he plans to take the bike back to Ernie’s and trade it in for a couple of small bikes that can be used by Norah in the near future.

The raffle was part of a fundraiser for ZTAP, which realized $810 in proceeds from the project. Tickets were sold at Charmed: Gifts with Meaning, Ernie’s Bike Shop and the Tuscarawas County Commissioners Office, all in New Philadelphia; the Gnadenhutten Farmers Market; The Ohio and Erie Canal Way Coalition; and the Tusky Days Festival. The ticket was drawn by Tuscarawas Village Mayor Dana Moore.

ZTAP President Joe Krocker said the fundraiser was a huge success. “It went far better than I thought,” he said. “Like all donations, we can use the proceeds as local match money towards much larger grants. We have a few new trail and park projects that we will be announcing soon.”
