Fall Flapjack Flip at Tuscazoar

Camp Tuscazoar will host its annual Fall Flapjack Flip pancake breakfast on Oct. 14 and 15 to raise funds for the historic camp. The breakfast menu will offer all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, applesauce and orange drink. Meals will be served to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days in the camp dining hall.

The camp is making plans to produce maple syrup this winter and income is needed to help defray the cost of equipment and supplies. Bottles and jugs of syrup will be available for purchase during the weekend as well.

Tickets for the Fall Flapjack Flip are $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under and can be purchased at the door.

The W.C. Moorhead Museum also will be open. The museum contains Camp Tuscazoar and area Scouting memorabilia dating from the camp’s earliest days to the present. Museum visitors will be able to view a film of Camp Tuscazoar activities dating from 1926-38, the oldest known film of Scouting in the Buckeye Council, BSA.

Campers will be able to use the camp’s RV park, which is located across the road from the camp entrance and offers several sites for daily, weekly or long-term rental. Electric and water hookups are available. Contact the camp ranger for additional information and site reservations.

Due to the ongoing closure of Boy Scout Road, north of the camp entrance, information has been posted at www.tuscazoar.org for the best route to reach the camp. Camp Tuscazoar is located on Tuscarawas County Road 83, two miles east of Zoar, near Zoarville.
