The Dover Public Library will host its eighth annual Overdue Open House on Sunday, Feb. 11 from 2-5 p.m. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, the Overdue Open House will feature events and activities for the entire family. Live music events will feature Atom Lax, Kodachrome Babies and Valleytown.

Other activities include face painting, a book sale, an extreme juggler, costumed characters, prize raffles, story telling, a Valentine's Day-themed bake sale and more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dover Public Library's Time to Check Out Your Future Capital Campaign.

"The library has embarked on a $500,000 renovation campaign to update its adult, teen and technology departments," said Jim Gill, library director. "We need to update the library so that it can better meet the needs of the community for years to come. Highlights of the project include updated wiring, more community meeting space and updated fixtures and furnishings. It really is overdue. In 2017 the library set a new circulation record with over 430,000 items checked out. The community is using our library more than ever, so we are excited to meet that challenge."

For more information about this free community event, call the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123.

The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N. Walnut St., directly across the street from Dover High School.
